A date with my Valentines

The two older kids and I did our Valentine’s Day date today!! Yes, we are a little behind schedule.  By a week to be exact.  But I am not crazy enough to actually go out on Valentine’s Day!! Plus, Tuesdays are discount movie ticket days. Boo-yah!! Mam was kind enough to watch Logan while we were out.

We began our date by getting gas. Romantic, I know.

Then, for lunch, we went to Noodles & Company. We arrived. We ordered our food. We sat down. I spilled my entire soda all over my lap.  Now, while I was soaking wet, it could have been much worse:

A) It didn’t spill on either of the kids (otherwise, this would’ve definitely been grounds for a toddler meltdown or two. I speak from experience.)

B) It was DIET Dr Pepper, so I didn’t get sticky.  Hallelujah! (Though I must admit, the thought crossed my mind that I could just go buy a new outfit… ;))

In the end, once my pants dried, you couldn’t even tell that there had been an altercation with a soft drink.  So yeah. Definitely could have been worse.  And in the end, the food was yummy and we enjoyed ourselves.

We then proceeded to the movies.   #butfirstletmetakeaselfie. Also known as, we did the photo-booth.

The movie itself was pretty cute, we enjoyed it. Nothing mind-blowing, but it was enjoyable and clever.

For our final activity, we went to Wal-Mart to get Logan some baby food and a couple other things. We may have gotten a little sidetracked.  We tried on shoes, we tried on hats, we looked through the clearance clothes, we looked through the non-clearance clothes, and we bought three hats. Now I just need to break it to them that those hats are actually for me….

On the way home we saw a double rainbow. I’m pretty sure it’s a sign. Me and my two valentines are going to be together forever. We are meant to be in love.

It was a fun date. And it was really nice to not have to worry about baby boy.  I love that squishy little guy but he is still a bit demanding.  And I’m pretty sure he would’ve been miserable during the movie and therefore, I would’ve been miserable during the movie.  It was an excellent Valentine’s day date. I only wish my real Valentine was here to do it with us.  Especially because these two small valentines are prone to grumpiness.  Juju started being a grump about 30 seconds after we returned home…. that didn’t take long.  And Clara started being grumpy not long after that. Weasels.

On the other hand, I’m a trendsetter.  Jack wanted my Ameri-camo hat.(I am inordinately proud of that name…)  And Jamie Face-Timed my mom and she wanted the hat too.

So, Jack and I went back to Wal-Mart and we got three more Ameri-camo hats.  One for Jack, one for Jamie, and one for Jenna.
