Jan 15- The Beach
It was supposed to rain most of the day. So, we decided to head to the beach for a bit before the rain started. And of course, despite the cold, the kids got in the water.
It was pretty windy this morning, so they really didn’t last a super long time. We were there for about an hour before hypothermia began to set in.
Uncle Buck’s
All afternoon, it was pouring rain. So, after the twins woke up from their naps, we decided to go bowling. at Uncle Buck’s. It was an ocean and fish-themed bowling alley. We had a bit of a wait until our lane was available, so we let the kids do a couple of arcade games. And then we bowled.
It is surprisingly difficult to find an activity in which all of our people can participate. But bowling fits that description. They even had approximately yam-sized shoes.
It was one of those times where I really felt like our family is getting older…. And I was reminded that we aren’t going to have babies and little kids forever…. which is both happy and sad. What can I say, bowling makes me thoughtful I guess.
Bowling was a success. But we pushed it a little late… And we had a few extra credits to use up at the arcade. So everyone (including me) was just kinda done when we got out of there. So we went to the Cracker Barrel for a late dinner (it was like 8…. oops!) And then we headed home.
Jan 16- Stake Conference on Okaloosa Island
The next morning we had stake conference, which was being held at a convention center on Okaloosa Island. It was a nice space. And the conference itself was very nice too. And Okaloosa is just really fun to say đŸ˜‰
That beach is amazing. Oh wait, maybe that’s your kids. Actually, it’s both.
Awww. Thanks Paul!
