Break Days- 02/07-08/22

02/07/22- Monday

I don’t think I’ve mentioned yet that Jonathan took off time for the entire time that we were in Orlando. We are exceptionally lucky that he can do that. And I am especially grateful that he did. It makes a pool day with 5 young’uns much more doable when you have two adults rather than just one.

Despite the cool weather, we spent a good portion of the day at the pool, swimming. The Pool complex itself is amazing. It is beautifully landscaped for one thing. But it also has a lot of cool features: a lazy river, a zero entry pool (which means no stairs for 2 year olds to fumble on/kill themselves on), a surprisingly fast water slide, playground, and of course hot tub.

We all had a great time. The older kids had a great time chasing the twins around and pretending that they were ‘dockadiles.’ The twins loved it too.

Since it was chilly outside, it was rather like pulling teeth to get everyone out of the water. But we managed it.

02/08/22- Tuesday

My sister, Jessica, flew in this morning on the red-eye. She’ll be doing Universal studios with us over the next couple days.

Unfortunately, it rained all day, so we basically stayed in the Airbnb and hung out. (And I got a fair amount done on the blog too, so that was nice!) We also watched movies, and tried to get decent naps for the twins. The late nights, movies, no naps, and no discipline has been wreaking havoc on them. They have thrown a LOT of tantrums. And Jess got to finish some homework for the classes she’s taking. So not the most exciting of days, but I would say that it was productive.

It was a nice relaxing day. We’re going to need all the reserves of energy and gumption that we can get for all the partying we’re going to do over the next two days at Universal Studios!
