So, we are officially back in our apartment as of about 10:30 am this morning. But first, we had a fancy breakfast at the fancy hotel. Which of course made us feel very fancy.
Shortly after we got home, we received anemail about the cockroach situation from our go-to guy who handles everything about the apartment. And he’d kinda made a stink and they were thinking about moving us to another apartment…and all this other stuff. But in the end, they decided to just send in cleaners.
To be honest, I had very mixed feelings about having someone clean our dwelling. First of all, it’s not like I haven’t been cleaning. In fact, I’ve been very diligent about it, because I didn’t want to attract vermin! Secondly, I hate people seeing our mess… Jonathan always mocks me by saying If we ever hired cleaners, I would clean up before they arrived. Which may have happened… but, whatever…don’t judge.
Anyway, then I decided to just embrace it. And after that I felt pretty darn fancy. I’ve never had legit cleaners before. And I must say, they did an excellent job. Ok. I have to mention one small thing. In the picture below, there is a drain in the floor…. which isn’t exactly fancy…. but…
This may be the single most brilliant thing I have ever seen. Basically they cleaned the bathroom by scrubbing the whole room and then rinsed it by dowsing everything. And then they squeegee-ed everything off! And everything goes right down into the drain. Brilliant.
And then we got a fancy new water dispenser. Which means Jonathan doesn’t have to go to the ‘well’ (aka convenience store) every day.
I mean, but really, look how fancy that water dispenser is. It has birds, and curlicues. #definitelyfancy
One thing I do not fancy (see what I did there?). Traffic. Manila has crazy traffic. Pretty much all the time. It literally has the worst traffic in the world. The hotel we stayed at was literally 1/3 mile away. But we took a taxi back to our apartment because we had too much to make it feasible with little ters. We had a suitcase, pack n play, stroller, oh and 3 children. It was a little too much to just walk with. Our trip took 15 minutes. At least Jonathan doesn’t get motion sick I suppose… But the image below is the kind of thing you deal with. Basically, it’s survival of the fittest. No one follows the signs or laws…
Now. As for things I do fancy? This little critter:
Juju came out after his nap and told me that he was all done sleeping. And then he proceeded to fall asleep on the (newly cleaned) floor.
Also fancying: These two little critters. Logan is now big enough to get in the tub with the big kids. And they loved it. All three of them. It was freaking CUTE!! She looks so grown up in this picture. #uglycry
