Hollywood Studios, Jill Style (Feb 5, 2022)

So, it worked out that Kristin, my sister-in-law, has a pass to Disney, and furthermore, she was available to hit Hollywood studios with me!! We had a lovely time. Though, we definitely took it a little bit slower than we might have if I hadn’t already done two full days in Magic Kingdom with 5 kids… Fortunately, she was cool with that!

We started our morning by heading right to the Rise of the Resistance ride. And man. What an amazing ride that was. It was completely immersive. They did an amazing job of making it feel like you were actually in the story that they had set up. At one point, there were a bunch of stormtroopers standing around, and I almost felt like it would be dangerous (or at the very least, naughty) to take pictures of them. I had to remind myself that it was a freaking ride! Obviously, it was incredible. I loved it. #newfavoriteride

We then wandered around through the rest of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s edge area. And as was the case with the ride, completely immersive. Amazing details. It was awesome. I’m not really a star wars geek, but even so, I found myself fan-girling!

Also, Kristin is a good sport. In the absence of my children, I needed a subject to put in all the cool surroundings that I wanted pictures of. And she was willing to fill that void.

We then decided to go ride the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. On our way there, we wandered through some other fun parts of Hollywood studios. The Toy Story area was especially adorable.

And it was surprisingly fun. Like Space Mountain, it was a roller coaster in the dark, but it also went upside down. We definitely enjoyed it. I mean, look at these happy faces:

After Aerosmith, we grabbed lunch. Then we decided to go ride Rise of the Resistance again. And after we had been in line for a while, we were notified that “All missions were delayed”. We decided to wait it out for a little while. And we kept waiting. Eventually, we decided that we should move on. And I’m glad we did, because the ride was having issues for the rest of the day.

As I mentioned before, I was pretty beat from the last couple of days. So, we took inventory and decided to do Smuggler’s Run and Star Tours since we were in that area. And then we would call it a day. (If the wait time for Hollywood House of Terror was reasonable we would ride that too. Spoiler: it never got better. Probably because Rise of the Resistance was down 🙁 )

Knowing that I would be responsible for the 5 children tomorrow, I decided that it might be wise not to exhaust myself. So at this point, we called it a day.

It was a great day at Hollywood studios, and it was awesome to hang out with Kristin. #DiemCarped

And what, you may ask, was the rest of the fam doing while I was partying with Kristin? Well, they were swimming their brains out. The pool at our Airbnb resort is amazing. The pool is basically the temperature of a cool bath.
