We had some cabin fever to cure. Fortunately, the weather was good. And I had a plan.
So, off we went. We drove to Niceville to walk the Turkey Creek Nature Trail. (Niceville. Isn’t that a great name for a town?)
Let’s get the heck out of the house! And be happy about it
Niceville. What a great name for a town.
Jonas displayed many characteristics of a squirrel today.
So, I have a thing for boardwalks. That alone was enough to make me happy. But truly, it was a lovely spot; very peaceful.
Obviously, it is January, so it is not quite as lush as it would be at other times of the year, but it was still beautiful. And it was so good to get out of the house and into nature.
This was basically the vibe of the whole place: boardwalk (my favorite thing!) Pretty trees (My favorite thing!) Peaceful surroundings (My favorite thing!)
Niceville
Swimming dock!
Faux pas: photographer’s shadow is in the picture. SMH.
We took a few minutes to do a little mindfulness. Jonas was into it.
E.E. was demonstrating what alligators say.
Logan did not want to be in the group picture.
Squirrel-y
Squirrel-y again.
We were really into piggy back rides for a minute there…

Isaac has been ‘taking pictures’ of everyone lately…
There were several swimming docks all along the way
Turkey Creek Nature Creek: Niceville Florida
I need to stop feeding them. They’re growing too fast.
Along the way are several swimming docks. The kids begged me to bring them back so they could swim. Honestly, they are nuts.
For me, one of the big highlights (besides the boardwalk, was that we saw a cute little turtle. In situ. It made us all so happy;
Is that what I think it is?
I think it is what I think it is!
Yes, I’m certain it is what I think it is
Hey there cute little guy!
I bought a toll pass. CUTE!!! We’re such Floridians!
When we returned to the park and parking lot (It is 2-mile out and back trail) we had lunch (with our sweet bento boxes) and then we headed home.
And when I got home, since I’m such a party animal, I bought a toll-transponder. #partyanimal
